Andy Snyder
I have worked in clay for most of my life. My mom shared with me a piece I gave her from summer camp when I was eleven. There still isn't a chip on it!
As proficient as an artist is with his/her hands, what they create is primarily an expression of what is in their heart and mind. I have been a farmer, teacher, organizer, artist, legislator and bureaucrat. I have lived in diverse environments having been born in New York City yet spending most of my life in rural Vermont. The one constant is that I have always been an activist. My emotions are usually on my sleeve. It is said that I can cry "at the opening of a supermarket." My pottery is as expressive as I am. Whimsical, diverse, fun, full of texture, complex.
I love when a customer says, "Man, I bet you had fun making this!" I know then that I have been successful.
I live in both Orwell Vermont and Saint Petersburg Florida and am easily reached by phone or email. I particularly enjoy working with my customers in the design phase. Choosing clay bodies, glazes, sizes, shapes and designs of pots, plates, mugs and handles for your new dinnerware set can be a wonderful experience. As I bring the art to fruition, you, the customer have played an integral part in the fine products that you will enjoy for a lifetime!
